JP Lyninger for Louisville Metro Council District 6

JP Lyninger for Metro Council District 5 - Campaign Design - Joanna Davis - Comms Director

Brief

JP Lyninger ran a successful campaign for Louisville Metro Council District 6 and won the Democratic Primary in the Spring of 2024. JP had a clear vision of his campaign message and poignantly communicated to voters that he was a proud Democratic Socialist. He ran on the platform of the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) and was also endorsed by them and the Louisville Democratic Socialist (LDSA) chapter in Louisville, KY.

The logo’s development drew inspiration from the fleur de lis, which represents the city of Louisville, and a rosebud, which is a significant symbol of socialist movements internationally. The rose was incorporated into the printed literature as a brocade overlay.

JP and his team diligently knocked on every door in the district neighborhoods while canvassing. The yard signs and literature designs were well-received by many constituents of this campaign due to the unique approach that stood out. We were proud to participate in this successful, unprecedented campaign to help the first Democratic Socialist win a Louisville Metro Council seat.
